Sister Teresa Harrell is a missionary Sister in the Society of Mary, a religious community dedicated to the New Evangelization, that works with the Saint John Society in their programs of New Evangelization with high school and college students, young adults, professionals, and the most marginalized. She joined the Catholic Church while in graduate school, after a powerful encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist, and entered the Society of Mary in Argentina in 2008. She earned her bachelor's in English, master's degrees in English and Theology, completed a course of philosophical studies in Argentina, and is currently working on a doctorate in ministry. She lives with several other members of her community in West Linn, Oregon, and serves full time at St. Michael the Archangel parish in downtown Portland, where (among other things) she serves as the Mercy Mission Program Director, a program for young adults who give a year of their lives to share the merciful love of Jesus with those living on the streets. She is the author of The Advent of Rescue, Advent meditations published by Acts XXIX, based on the Rescue Project.
Inspired by The Rescue Project, The Advent of Rescue is thoughtfully crafted to provide daily reflections, prayers, and even Sunday homily suggestions during the advent season.
