At Women at Well, our mission is to create the space for Catholic Women to come together to Grow in Faith + Community.
Encounter events are hosted at Advent and Lent as a way for all the women in the parish to gather together to fellowship, learn about the Catholic Faith and then Encounter Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration + Confession.
We know that you want to be a woman of God who has a strong Faith and is active in your Community. In order to do that, you need resources and opportunities. The problem is that there are so many resources and programs out that that are geared specifically towards Catholic women. This can make you feel like you don't even know where to start. Or maybe you did find a program or resource, but it is going to require more time and attention that you have to give in your current season of life.
We believe that Catholic women want to grow in Faith and they want to connect outside of the Sunday church pew routine. We understand that the modern Catholic woman does not have the time and ability to create big events at her parish and step away from the hurriedness of life to do this weekly. Which is why we created the space for women to be able to say Yes, to hosting an event at Advent and Lent where all the women of the parish are welcome and invited.
The Advent Encounter Event is held the first Sunday night in Advent.
The Lenten Encounter event is held on the Sunday before Ash Wednesday.
A Virtual Guest speaker is provided for parishes to join in via Zoom. The speaker will speak on a topic specific for the season and geared towards all women of the parish.
One full hour of Adoration + Confessions are made available for the women to have an night of Encounter
With Women at Well Encounter Events you can stop wondering how to grow in Faith and who is going to help you meet other women in your parish.
And instead host an event at your parish, spend an hour in adoration + confession preparing your heart for the season, take home the guided prayer journal to pray with every day and begin to grow in Faith + Community.
It's suggested that Encounter events be held on the nights above. This is to form unity and solidarity. Consider partnering with other area parishes if your parish is not available that night.
The books are hand selected for the season and to meet the needs of all Catholic women. The content is geared towards women in all stages of their Faith. You'll find as you walk through the book during the season that you'll be able to glean so much. This comes from the unity formed within the apostolate as we all walk through the book together.
Speak with your parish about purchasing the books in bulk for a discounted rate and if you will need to recoup the costs for the books then discuss how much each attendant should be asked to pay.
Yes, the apostolate focuses on the 5 Pillars of Encounter. In order for your event to be an official Women at the Well Encounter event it has to offer adoration and confessions. If you're having trouble securing a priest to offer this consider partnering with other area parishes to do the events together and utilize their priests.
It's a good idea to meet with your parish priest about a month beforehand to discuss the details and what his duties will be. You can ask him if he would be able to:
If you choose to utilize the apostolate virtual speaker and materials then ask if he would be willing to cover the cost of this
