Rachel loves being Catholic. She didn’t grow up anti-Catholic and never really had an awareness of the Catholic Church other than what she was exposed to by popular culture.
In her early 20s, she went to her first Catholic Mass on an Easter Sunday morning. She couldn’t see anything from the back of the balcony, but she knew that she had found what her heart was longing for all of her life. She found “home”.
Since coming “home”, she has given talks to large and small crowds of various ages and vocations. She is a sought after retreat facilitator and speaker. Her talks are dynamic and soul-prodding because of her avid storytelling and gift of intentional, direct language; often piercing through difficult topics and straight to
the heart of the listener.
She is a regular contributor to the Word on Fire blog, co-hosts the Youtube show “Meet the Bulmans”, and will release two books in the coming months.
She loves karaoke and college football (Go Gators!), has a weakness for ice cream and an aversion to kombucha. She loves lifting weights and Sunday naps. She has been married to Jason since 2008 and they have the gift of 7 children (1 in heaven) - Gabriel, Jeremiah, Gemma, Abigail, +Karol, Josephine and Benedict. The Bulmans live in central Florida and Jason was recently ordained to the Order of the Diaconate, serving his local parish community.

No one on earth knew Jesus better than his mother. No one spent more time with him or knew his heart better than she did. While the apostles spent an intense three years under his care, Mary spent thirty years with him before his public ministry, learning his heart, his mannerisms, and every little detail about him.
Mary deeply desires that you know and love her son. This Lent, through The Ascension Lenten Companion, you can learn to see Jesus’ Passion and death through the heart and eyes of his mother. With Mary at your side, your prayer, fasting, and almsgiving can become more than habitual practices, profound personal encounters with Christ in his final moments.
Following the same award-winning format that hundreds of thousands of Catholics have enjoyed through past Lent and Advent reflections, The Ascension Lenten Companion will help you cultivate a deeper attentiveness to Christ. By walking alongside Mary, your Lent will become an intimate journey where you'll share in both her sorrows and her love, drawing ever closer to the heart of Jesus.
